Santos & Irmãos
The first frame shop in the city of Porto was founded in 1858 by two brothers, António and José dos Santos. Throughout it's existence several artists created models of frames and margins, helping to refine this art until our days. António Carneiro, Henrique Medina and Fernando Lanhas are some of the examples that can be pointed out. The framing technique has evolved alongside the restoration of paintings, frames or gilded wood.
More than a century and a half have refined this art, so that you can now enjoy 'time-honored' products and services. Among the several awards for their work are the Bronze Medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1900 and the Gold Medal at the Portuguese Industrial Exhibition in 1933.
It is currently the oldest frame shop in the world.
